The influence of natural conditions on the occurrence and movement of wild animals and the success of evaluating their detection using different working methods
POLENSKÝ, Jakub
This thesis aimed to determine the influence of landscape conditions on the occurrence and movement of wildlife and to evaluate the success of game detection using different methods, focusing on roe deer. Roe deer are our native game and are now one of our most widespread game animals. The entire dissertation was conducted to propose the most optimal way of searching for a game on agricultural land in front of hayfields using unmanned UAV technology with a thermal imaging camera. In order to achieve the aim of the thesis, several sub-steps were carried out, which mainly dealt with the issue of comparing the methods of deer detection in forage crops (ground survey versus the use of UAV technology) and the issue of returning the deer to the crops after they had been flushed out or carried away. Other sub-analyses included evaluating the effectiveness of alternative methods of scaring deer from stands using different types of scarecrows and assessing the occurrence of red deer on the land concerning the location of landmarks. The solution of the dissertation thesis resulted in the proposal of a methodological guide for optimizing the search for deer on forage plots on arable land and permanent grassland.
The influence of water stress on germination and growth of grasses and legumes
HRDA, Lukáš
The negative impact of climate change on agricultural production is consistently increasing all over the world. As a result of these changes, the yields of some crops have been decreasing. The main problems include frequent weather changes, especially long periods of drought accompanied by high temperatures. The aim of this diploma thesis was to assess the effect of water deficit on offshoot germination and longevity of selected species of grasses and clovers. The evaluation of resistance to water deficit was carried out using both laboratory and pot experiments. The results of these experiments were used to evaluate the drought resistance of the tested species of grasses and legumes. Based on the proven drought resistance, appropriate species and varieties have been recommended for cultivation in conditions of water deficit. The issue of drought resistance is to be paid more and more attention in the future. According to most forecasts, increasingly long periods of drought are likely to occur. For this reason, there will be the need for crops and varieties that best resist to various abiotic stresses.
The comparison of erosion intensity by different types of fodder crops and technology of cultivation
JIRSOVÁ, Monika
This thesis deals with division, growing and importance of various types of forage crops in relation to the erosion threat of soils in the Czech Republic. The first part focuses on the evaluation of the causes and course of degradation of soils in the present and the subsequent development of land in terms of expected climate change. The most serious degradation factors include pedocompaction, dehumification, occupation of land, poor infiltration, water and wind erosion. Only on account of water erosion, 42% of agricultural land in the Czech Republic is at risk. In another part of the thesis the importance of various species of legumes, permanent grassland, wide rowed crops and their impact on soil erosion hazard is given. Last but not least, the work summarizes the organizational, technical and agro-technical erosion control measures. They are characterized by the possibility of their use, effectiveness and ambitiousness.
